Beatbot Sora 70 Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner

The Beatbot Sora 70 is a premium cordless robotic pool cleaner designed for in-ground and above-ground swimming pools. It is designed to clean the pool floor, walls, waterline, water surface and shallow areas, providing substantially broader coverage than conventional floor-and-wall robotic cleaners.

The Sora 70 combines a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, intelligent navigation, ultrasonic obstacle detection, app connectivity and multiple cleaning modes. Its cordless design eliminates the need for a floating power cable, while its large-capacity debris basket is designed for extended cleaning sessions.

Full-Coverage Cordless Pool Cleaning

The Sora 70 is designed to provide five-area cleaning coverage:

1. Water surface
2. Shallow areas and platforms
3. Pool floor
4. Pool walls
5. Waterline

This makes it more than a conventional robotic pool vacuum. In Pro Mode, the cleaner is designed to automatically work across these areas as part of a comprehensive cleaning cycle.

One Cordless Robot. Five Cleaning Areas.

Floor. Walls. Waterline. Shallow Areas. Water Surface.

The cordless design also removes the need for a power cable floating around the pool, reducing cable tangling and making setup simpler.

Floor, Walls & Waterline Cleaning

The Sora 70 uses multiple motors and intelligent navigation to move across the pool floor and climb suitable pool walls.

It is designed to clean:

• Pool floor
• Pool walls
• Waterline
• Shallow platforms
• Water surface

The cleaner’s intelligent navigation system is designed to optimise its cleaning route rather than repeatedly travelling randomly around the pool.

Water Surface Cleaning

One of the Sora 70’s key differentiating features is water-surface cleaning.

Instead of limiting cleaning to submerged pool surfaces, the Sora 70 can operate at the water surface to collect floating debris such as:

• Leaves
• Insects
• Floating debris
• Surface contaminants

Its JetPulse™ technology helps direct floating debris towards the cleaner for collection.

This can reduce the amount of manual surface skimming required between pool-cleaning cycles.

Shallow Area & Platform Cleaning

The Sora 70 is designed to operate in water as shallow as approximately 20cm.

This allows it to clean certain:

• Shallow ledges
• Platforms
• Baja shelves
• Shallow-entry areas

For pool owners with modern pools containing tanning ledges or shallow platforms, this provides an important advantage over robots designed primarily for conventional pool floors.

Intelligent Navigation

The Sora 70 uses SonicSense™ intelligent sensing technology to help detect obstacles and navigate around the pool.

The system uses multiple sensors, including ultrasonic sensing, to identify obstacles and improve navigation.

The cleaner uses intelligent cleaning patterns, including S-shaped routes, to help provide more systematic pool coverage.

This is particularly useful in pools with:

• Steps
• Ledges
• Pool furniture or obstacles
• Irregular shapes
• Curved walls
• Freeform layouts

Beatbot App

The Sora 70 can connect to the Beatbot App through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The app provides access to cleaner controls and operating information, allowing users to manage cleaning without manually operating the robot.

Depending on the operating mode and software version, the app can provide functions such as:

• Cleaning-mode selection
• Cleaning control
• Robot status
• Battery information
• Cleaning-cycle information
• Firmware/software updates
• Smart-control functions

The Sora 70 supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.

Cleaning Modes

The Sora 70 provides multiple cleaning modes designed for different pool-cleaning requirements.

Pro Mode

Designed for comprehensive cleaning across the pool.

It can cover:

• Water surface
• Shallow areas
• Floor
• Walls
• Waterline

Floor Mode

Designed specifically for cleaning the pool floor.

This is useful when the main requirement is removing accumulated dirt, sand and debris from the bottom of the pool.

Surface Mode

Designed specifically for collecting floating debris from the water surface.

Standard Mode

Provides a general-purpose cleaning cycle for routine pool maintenance.

ECO Mode

Designed for lighter or more energy-conscious cleaning requirements.

6L Large-Capacity Debris Basket

The Sora 70 features a 6-litre debris basket, providing substantial debris capacity.

The larger basket is particularly useful for Australian pools exposed to:

• Eucalyptus leaves
• Gum leaves
• Tree debris
• Insects
• Sand
• General outdoor debris

A larger basket means the cleaner can collect more debris before requiring manual emptying.

The basket should be emptied and rinsed regularly to maintain optimum water flow and cleaning performance.

Filtration

The standard Sora 70 filtration system uses approximately a 150-micron filter.

This is suitable for capturing common pool debris such as:

• Leaves
• Insects
• Hair
• Sand
• Larger dirt particles

An optional ultra-fine 3-micron filter is also available for customers who require finer particle filtration.

The optional fine filtration can be particularly useful after:

• Dust storms
• Heavy pollen periods
• Fine sediment contamination
• Environmental debris entering the pool

Long Battery Runtime

The Sora 70 incorporates a 10,000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

Beatbot specifies up to approximately:

5 hours of floor cleaning

and up to approximately:

7 hours of surface cleaning

Actual operating time will vary depending on the cleaning mode, pool configuration, wall climbing, debris load and operating conditions.

Charging

The Sora 70 uses a 65W charging system.

A complete recharge takes approximately 4.5 hours under specified conditions.

For normal residential use, this allows the cleaner to be charged between cleaning cycles rather than requiring a permanent power connection beside the pool.

Smart Surface Parking & Retrieval

One of the practical features of the Sora 70 is its ability to return to the water surface.

After completing its cleaning operation, the cleaner can move towards the surface, making it easier for the owner to retrieve it.

This is particularly useful because the robot weighs approximately 10.5kg.

The smart retrieval function reduces the need to manually search for the robot at the bottom of the pool.

Pool Compatibility

The Sora 70 is designed for a wide range of swimming pools.

It can be used with:

• In-ground pools
• Above-ground pools
• Rectangular pools
• Round pools
• Kidney-shaped pools
• Freeform pools
• Pools with shallow platforms

Compatible pool surfaces include:

• Concrete
• Ceramic/tile
• Fibreglass
• Vinyl
• Other suitable pool surfaces

For Australian customers, the cleaner is also designed for saltwater pools within the manufacturer’s specified salt concentration limits.

Pool Suitability

The Sora 70 is particularly well suited to Australian residential pools where outdoor debris can be a significant maintenance issue.

Typical debris includes:

• Eucalyptus leaves
• Gum leaves
• Fine dust
• Sand
• Insects
• Pollen
• General garden debris

The combination of 6L debris capacity, cordless operation, long battery life and water-surface cleaning makes the Sora 70 suitable for larger residential pools where frequent manual cleaning would otherwise be required.
